Work independently to research, analyze and administer corporate welfare and retirement benefits. Effectively coordinate all cases/claims to include general administration, comprehensive case management and program compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, and all related laws. Provide superior service and guidance to teammates, executives and HR Business Partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.  Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.  Specific activities may change from time to time. 
1. Serve as a skilled resource for the welfare and retirement benefits, in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of the Benefit Operations Manager.
2. Interpret and administer welfare, retirement and non-qualified benefit plans and policies to ensure adherence to federal and state laws as well as internal guidelines.
3. Accountable for an increased amount of process responsibility.  Independently approve or deny general benefit requests or changes and enforce qualified medical child support orders. Perform an analysis of benefits in place in the event of death in order to create and assemble bereavement packets for beneficiaries.  Prepare personalized retirement benefit packets for voluntary and involuntary terminations. Calculate and project retirement earnings in order to request pension calculations and estimates.
4. Provide support to team members and serves as a mentor for internal training.
5. Ability to counsel newly acquired teammates on the transition of their former welfare and retirement plans to the new benefit programs available with Truist. Capable of comprehending and interpreting the acquisitions former welfare and retirement plans in order to effectively communicate these transitions to teammates and retirees.
6. Efficiently execute and prioritize daily time-sensitive tasks and requests in addition to maintaining ongoing projects and processes in a timely and proficient manner. 

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or Three + years’ experience in administering welfare benefits and/or retirement plans.
2. Excellent working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, and other HR related applications.
3. Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Understand and respect sensitive and confidential information.
4. Ability to identify and resolve complex problems or procedural irregularities, collect data, interpret facts to draw valid conclusions and make proper recommendations to management.
5. Possess excellent time management and organizational skills with attentiveness to detail. Ability to analyze information and convert related tasks into a comprehensive work plan.
6. Communicate in a clear, effective and respectful manner whether via phone or email.
