Responsible for identifying, developing and implementing best practice budget processes

-Identify, strategize, develop and implement best budget practices and processes within the budget planning system to support the University

-Support the Central Budget Office with special projects, research and other requests as needed

-Review and approve payroll costing allocations and adjustments

-Assist with the funding allocations and communication of allocations

-Area analysis, detail reviews, forecast

-Assist with the implementation of Area (departmental) and University-wide multi-year planning

-Provide system testing support and documentation of budget system processes and controls

-Evaluate requests for funds using budget analysis and communication with Area requesting

-Assist with required reporting to State, Kansas Board of Regents and University of Kansas

-Provide guidance, training and system reference materials to end users

-Documentation of system processes and assistance with troubleshooting system issues

-Ability to work in an office setting and from home with equipment at home provided by the University

Required Qualifications:

-BS or BA degree in Accounting, Economics or other relevant business degree and/or three to five years of relevant work experience

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information to a variety of constituents within and outside the University

-Ability and to work on group projects as a “team player” and a “team leader

-Proficiency with excel and other Microsoft Office products and applications

Preferred Qualifications:

-Certified Public Accountant and/or experience in public accounting

-Experience with ERP implementation

-Experience with Workday and/or Adaptive Accounting and Budgeting Systems
