Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Financial Business Analyst for Business and Finance.

 

The Financial Business Analyst works with information systems and supports the Controller’s Office functions. This position creates finance and administration system training content either directly and/or indirectly with subject matter expert help, performs daily ticket management activities in the financial help desk, produces and maintains knowledge base content, monitors integrations, performs tasks during various system implementation projects, and creates reports and new software in support of the finance and administration system.

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

Help Desk Ticket Processing

  • Manage coverage for 1st level support for Finance help desk, monitor SME progress toward response, advocate for the user for timely ticket resolution

  • Analyzes help desk data, identifies trends and recommends communication/training interventions

  • Escalate issues to appropriate supervisor and/or SMEs

  • Researches system developments and anticipates support needs based on new releases and system maintenance

  • Track and ensure resolution of Workday functionality issues based upon user feedback

 

Financial Training Support

  • Create the finance system training schedule, produce learning management system content, adjust learning management system configuration, and conduct webinar software during stand-up training.

  • Enables and monitors live webinars during training sessions

  • Configure and maintain course descriptions, learning tracks and other data in the Learning Management System in support of finance training efforts

  • Publish recorded training content to the Knowledge Base and LMS as needed

  • Facilitate logistics for functional training for all areas of Business and Finance

  • Modify training curriculum (e.g., support materials) based on user feedback and changes to business processes

 

Knowledge Base Development

  • Facilitates instructional article creation from a cross functional group of Workday subject matter experts

  • Review published articles and multimedia content for currency and correctness

  • Edit Knowledge Base articles to ensure they are consistent and adhere to Knowledge Base standards and accessibility

  • Organize and maintain the financial knowledge base system

  • Recommends formatting and organizational structure of the system

  • Provide end user support in a variety of mediums

 

Workday Security Initiation and Help Desk Management

  • Assess and correspond to users who are requesting security changes in Workday

  • Initiate security requests in Workday

  • Maintain and improve security request forms and workflows

 

ERP System Team Participation

  • Works closely with functional SMEs on proposing new changes to the Workday ERP system.

  • Participates in system wide Workday governance meetings

  • Assists in testing new Workday changes in different functional areas

  • Participates in ERP change projects as a team member: testing, configuration, documentation

 

Workflow and Form Development and Maintenance

  • Develop new business workflows and forms that increase value within the University and finance.

  • Work with users to develop requirements and design workflow and automation forms.

  • Work with document system to implement and enforce document retention

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience; OR Master’s degree and one (1) year of related work experience

Related Experience: Working in an IT role supporting business applications, website applications, training platforms, etc. and some experience within a financial environment or related.

 

Schedule and Travel Requirements

Occasional nights and weekends may be required
