Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is recruiting for an NSHE Specialist 1. The position will provide budget and transaction support to administrative assistants in the clinical departments. This position is responsible for processing budgetary Workday transactions for the Senior Director including hires, terminations, budget revisions, expense reports and p-cards support. During budget season, this position will work with Senior Director in budget preparation for the clinical departments to include the clinical budget, hospital budget and state budgets.
The position will oversee Student Outreach Operations and transactional work; audit records for compliance; perform analytical budget development, compliance, and budgetary consultation. As well, this position will be accountable for the accurate and independent processing of new renewable letters of appointments and new academic faculty for multiple clinical departments. The NSHE Specialist 1 will process Workday tasks, monitor and complete onboarding communication with new hire. Process pay documents contracts and payroll independently within a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of relevant experience; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of program support experience equivalent to an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada state service which included applying complex laws and regulations, composing written materials and maintaining records; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Compensation Grade
Grade 31 (Entry, Step 01 $20.76 /hr. – Step 04 $23.54 /hr.)
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
