Job Description

The School of Public Health at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks candidates for the Personnel Technician 2 position. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

This position is responsible for employment transactions, hiring and onboarding of new staff, and payroll coordination. This position works closely with the the Fiscal and Administrative Officer for the School of Pubic Health, This position is also responsible for running reports and problem-solving personnel and payroll related inquiries.

The successful candidate will be well organized, have excellent interpersonal skills, and have an ability to multi-task with accuracy.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of technical personnel/payroll experience; OR one year of experience as a Personnel Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with knowledge of human resources and payroll are encouraged to apply. Workday experience highly preferred.

Schedule/ Remote Work

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

This position works in the office at the UNR main campus.

Compensation Grade

Grade 27
