Job Description

The ASUN Center for Student Engagement Accounting Office handles all payments, deposits, donations, payroll, contracts, agreements, grants, university credit cards, copy machine codes for ASUN and 300 clubs/organizations.  We also offer notary services. Its employees are detail oriented, responsible, trustworthy, and offer strong customer service skills to all students, staff, and others to answer questions or resolve problems in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Receiving/processing paperwork including requests for checks, internal purchase orders, and blanket purchase orders, request for credit card forms, travel paperwork, transfer/journal voucher forms.

  • Intake and posting of receipts.

  • Providing account balances to club officers.

  • Checking university purchasing cards in and out to various clubs, officers, and staff.

  • Making deposits and filling out receipt forms for funds remitted by clubs and ASUN officer.

  • Intake and posting of deposits to the Cash & Credit card logs in excel.

  • Ensuring club spreadsheets are up to date.

  • Contact with Controllers Office, VP/AVP’s Office, Purchasing Department, Cashiers Office, Facilities Services, etc.

  • Customer service including answering questions, receiving paperwork, assisting with documents.

  • Clerical including typing, filing, and photocopying.

  • Assist with reconciliation of all Central Station transactions.

  • Process Journal Vouchers, Supplier Invoice Requests, PCard Verification, Requisitions, Receipts, and Accounting Adjustments.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be in good standing as an undergraduate student with the University of Nevada, Reno.

  • Must have and maintain a minimum of 2.0 GPA and earn 30 credit hours per year at the University of Nevada, Reno.

  • Must be available to work within the following hours Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and/or Saturday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Hours are flexible.

  • Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week but no more than 25 hours a week

  • Must attend a mandatory meeting that takes place every week during the school year.

  • Must be reliable, punctual, able to work within deadlines, and work independently in a highly dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excel software experience is necessary, but not required.

  • Experience working in an accounting setting.

  • Experience using Workday Financials and HCM is a plus, but we will teach you.

  • Interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills are vital to this job.

  • Occasionally lift boxes weighing 25 lbs.​
