The Human Resources, Equity and Compliance (HREC) Business Office supports the Office of the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, which includes University Human Resources departments, Office of Culture, Ethics, and Compliance, Office of Professionalism and Ethics, and the Office of Equity Equal Opportunity, and Title IX. The Business Office works with multiple central units, the Office of Budget and Planning (OBP), Treasury, and Comptroller’s office to ensure all budgetary and financial needs can address the growing needs of the University.
This Financial Analyst will support the Office of the Senior Vice President of Human Resources which includes Central Human Resources departments, Office of Culture, Ethics, and Compliance, Office of Professionalism and Ethics, and the Office of Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX. With the growing needs of the University, the SVP of HR has set a vision to design a high-functioning and people-centric HR connected operation to serve the University’s mission.
The Human Resources, Equity and Compliance (HREC) Business Office is seeking a Financial Analyst to assist the University’s financial operations. The Financial Analyst will help develop information to assess present and future financial status and will prepare and analyze financial reports. This position will support the financial leadership team to review current trends, analyze financial data and provide forecasting support, produce monthly report, which includes key metrics, prepare reports and projections based on financial data, and support the yearly budget process.
This role will be responsible for performing regular and ad-hoc financial reporting, data evaluation and will summarize data into meaningful formats. This role will also assist in financial planning and forecasting. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a strong analytical mindset.
This is a 1-year Fixed-Term position. Fixed-term employees are eligible for benefits including medical, dental and vision plans, a competitive retirement plan, and education reimbursement.
Key Accountabilities Include:
Performs analysis to assist in financial planning and enhance the budget process. Produce all monthly financial reporting that includes rosters to be able to update monthly forecast.
Performs regular and ad-hoc financial reporting. Create financial presentations to be given to key leadership members.
Reviews existing accounts and works with supporting staff to modify or enhance processes.
Understand the various university financial systems, including Workday Financial, Marketplace Jaggaer and Concur and other university legacy systems.
Evaluates and analyzes financial and operating reports and data. Develops conclusions and recommendations and communicates orally or in writing to management.
Assists in the identification and resolution of business problems. Researches and interprets available data. Evaluates alternatives and determines appropriate methods of presentation.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Bachelor of Arts or Science in Accounting and/or Business Management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to create and present financial information.
At least 2 years of directly related experience in a university environment or corporate finance with knowledge of financial systems and data base preferred
Excellent working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and familiar working with an accounting and financial analysis software.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Experience: 1 year
Minimum Field of Expertise: Business education or closely related field. Experience in financial analysis and reporting with knowledge of computer simulation and forecasting techniques.
