Human Resources Coordinator
USC Marshall School of Business

Resource Employee – 4 months
 

The Marshall HR team is responsible for managing the employee life cycle of Marshall School’s over 600 staff and faculty across more than twenty degree programs and seven academic departments, as well as 700 student workers. The team is committed to meet business needs through managing your company's most valuable resources – our faculty and staff. The general responsibilities/duties aligned with this position are as follows.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist the HR team in recruiting efforts, specifically: posts open and track requisitions through the approval process, managing active job postings, coordinate candidate management and recruitment documentations within Workday.
  • Assisting with onboarding of new employees, specifically: requesting and tracking account creation, providing onboarding information to new employees, and ensuring new employee accounts are accurately set-up.
  • Process part-time faculty hire and re-hire in collaboration with the HR team, Marshall Faculty Affairs, and academic units.
  • Participate in development and communication of new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR operation and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience.
  • Assist the HR team with transactions related to leave management, job classification review, hire and promotions process, compensation analysis, reorganizations, and HR data management.
  • Partner effectively with internal and external offices such as USC central Human Resources Administration and USC Payroll as needed.   
  • Participate and support the HR team in maintenance of data and development of standard and ad hoc reporting.
  • Upkeep and maintain organizational charts, employee files and records, and process changes of employment in Workday.
  • Keep current with state and federal HR regulations, and USC policies.
  • Provides reports to Director and school leadership as required.
  • Manage projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years’ progressive experience in HR
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS systems
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships with a variety of diverse stakeholders.

Compensation Range

The hourly base range for this position is $26.19 – $34.00.
