  • Assist and respond to financial inquiries from College and various University offices. This includes ad hoc reporting and analysis in support of College departments, administrative offices, centers, programs, and institutes.

  • Assist with financial transactions in Workday; supporting costing allocations; reviewing transactions; cost center management duties.

  • Assist with the development of the annual operating budget for all fund types as needed.

  • Make recommendations for the development of finance-related policies and procedures for Liberal Arts financial operations.

  • Provide financial onboarding training to newly hired faculty and staff as needed.

  • Reconciliation of wide range of College accounts.

  • Regularly receive, track, and respond to financial inquiries made to the College Finance office through a shared messaging system.

  • Review, record, and verify transactions for all fund types. Transactions include but are not limited to transfers, purchase orders, pro-card vouchers, cash/check deposits, travel authorizations, travel reimbursements, and scholarship documents.

  • Other related duties and functions as assigned and based on the evolving needs of the College.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Five years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting with experience in planning, forecasting and financial analysis. Experience working in a financial office with a multitude of constituents. Excellent communication skills, especially when conveying financial information. Ability to work as member of a large and complex team; proven track record of providing exceptional, consistent, and reliable customer service in a financial capacity. Extensive data analysis experience, Workday experience, and proficiency in Excel. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than five years’ experience in progressively responsible finance or accounting within a large R1 university setting. Experience supporting the financial operations of a large school or college with multi-million dollar budgets. Experience working with FileMaker Pro, Cognos Upfront, FRMS, BUD, VIP Direct, and other UT systems.

Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on qualifications

  • Austin-area base is required with a blend of in-person work and remote work.

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
