Purpose

To support student employment within the School of Undergraduate Studies and Enrollment Management (UGS/EM).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all graduate and undergraduate student employment processing and onboarding in Workday. Provide guidance to students and supervisors on student employment policies, regulations, and procedures. Act as liaison with other UT Austin offices and colleges as needed.
  • Provide support to HR team. Assist with Smartsheets updates, processing Workday reports, special projects, and audits as requested.
  • Assist with UGS/EM portfolio Workday processing, as needed. File all necessary documentation and maintain personnel files. Ensure the organization is in compliance with all institutional rules and regulations pertinent to human resources functions. Stay abreast of all Workday updates and changes.
  • Complete I-9 forms and background checks for all new staff and student employees.
  • Serve as Timekeeper and assist with reviewing and approving time reports for the portfolio. Operate as primary approver for all part-time and student reports and backup for full-time staff time reports.

Required Qualifications

Successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies, typically evidenced by a Bachelor’s degree and two years of HR experience: established problem-solving skills, a self-starter and results-oriented approach to work; demonstrated experience working in a large, complex, fast-paced and dynamic environment. Demonstrated commitment to supporting equity and inclusion in the portfolio. Demonstrated record of professional demeanor and discretion with the ability to interact diplomatically with diverse constituencies. Excellent communication (both oral and written), critical thinking skills, and attention to detail. Must be able to work with confidential information and utilize discretion. Knowledgeable of university resources, policies, and procedures.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional experience beyond the required. Knowledge of human resources laws, regulations, and best practices. Familiarity with UT policies and procedures. Familiarity with Workday. Demonstrated ability to multitask and handle concurrent projects with accuracy, diplomacy, and discretion. Ability to strategically problem solve and execute a plan of action. Engage and be an advocate for our students and staff. Previous experience in higher education or a large, complex organization.

Salary Range

$45,000 + depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:

Compliance:
