Funding is expected to continue. This is a grant funded position with an end date of 08/31/24, renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward research goals.
Oversee research administration of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UT Austin – Dell Medical School.
Manage all aspects of research accounting including grants (federal, state, foundation, and industry), clinical trials, research gifts, and faculty start-up accounts.
Monitor post award activities to ensure compliance for cost transfers, budget revisions/adjustments, and reporting. Assist Principal Investigators with submission of annual, quarterly, or monthly reports to funding entities. Perform periodic review of expenditures, commitments, and their compliance with grant agreements.
Work with research faculty and support staff to review and analyze PI research funding accounts with regular frequency to address spending burn-rates, staff allocations, and funding period forecasts.
Monitor account balances, reconcile all research funding accounts, and distribute regular financial reports to Principal Investigators. Coordinate costing allocation updates as required.
Coordinate with Dell Med Spa for pre-award functions as needed, which may include grant budgeting and grant modifications.

Bachelor’s degree. Five years of experience in research administration or three years w/Master’s degree. One year of full-time equivalent applicable experience may be substituted for each thirty semester hours of college credit earned, or vice versa; however, a minimum of two years of research administration experience is required. Excellent financial analytical ability. Familiarity with financial transaction data, forecasting, and the ability to perform financial analyses. Experience with Microsoft Excel, including a working knowledge of pivot tables and formulas. Ability to present financial reports and data in a clear and concise manner. Strong organizational, administrative, time management and critical thinking skills. Ability to meet deadlines and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment and manage competing projects and deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills especially in written and verbal communication. Motivated to deliver excellent customer service to faculty and staff. Must be self-directed and able to work independently and with collaborative partners. Must be flexible and open to new responsibilities and evolving workflows. Possess a high degree of judgement and awareness of confidential data and situations. Certified Research Administrator (CRA). Working knowledge of Workday, DEFINE, Smartsheet, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with eRA Commons, NSF, Research.gov, and/or Grants.gov. Experience with UT System policies, systems, and procedures. Experience with purchasing and/or working with graduate student appointments. Experience in an academic medical research environment.
$70,000 + depending on qualifications
May work around standard office conditions.

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
