This position requires advanced Workday expertise and strong functional understanding of the data architecture within Workday. The Senior Analyst has a deep knowledge of dashboards, worksheets, custom and trending data sources, embedded analytics, calculated fields, and People Analytics. Priorities are leading the design, implementation and delivery of processes, implementing programs and policies, solving complex problems, and providing a new perspective on existing solutions. The Senior Analyst will enhance reporting and metrics across Workday to support Talent Acquisition leadership and team initiatives. The Senior Analyst has an in-depth knowledge of Workday, and excellent communication, collaboration, and solution skills. The candidate will lead and mentor others on the team.

Specific Responsibilities of this position:

  • Act as a thought partner for the recruiting team by building awareness of how analytics can help throughout the talent acquisition process.
  • Translate business problems into analytical questions that you will scope, define variable terms, build and execute an analysis plan, and report findings.
  • Lead the development of recruiting analytics dashboards that visualize data in a way that eases interpretation for non-technical audiences.
  • Develop, present and explain presentations to inform TA leadership with compelling narratives and visualizations that communicate analyses, results, and implications.
  • May be required to both create and present data and narratives to UVA/UVAMC leadership and leadership in the schools and units.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting to identify trends and patterns.
  • Identify metrics for tracking that will give TA leadership the ability to measure the effectiveness of the recruiting and hiring process that will be distributed to the TA team and their stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with the Workday Analytics Team to evaluate current Workday reporting and identify underutilized Workday functionality that could ease analysis.

Additional information:

The position will serve Talent Acquisition and will have a dedicated TA book of business and therefore work closely with TA leadership, and TA team which will include attending team meetings and regular meetings with TA leaders. 

The anticipated salary range is $110,000.00 – 120,000.00 commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is an exempt-level, benefited position. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.


Education: High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred and may substitute for experience

Experience: Eight years relevant experience, with 3+ years deep knowledge of Workday data sources and complex calculated fields required

Certification: Workday Pro Reporting Certification highly preferred


This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
