As a Compensation Analyst, you will research job requirements and evaluate job positions to ensure the company is competitive in the areas of salaries, variable pay, and compensation-related benefits to help attract and retain talent. This position supports compensation efforts for all United States and Canada locations; including reviewing new or updated job descriptions, evaluating market pricing, partnering to address internal equity issues and other compensation-related initiatives and projects. The incumbent will maintain the compensation database tool (MarketPay/PayScale) and its data as well as create ad hoc reporting for various compensation analyses. This role will help communicate compensation and Uponor’s pay philosophy to employees at all levels of the organization. This individual will report to the Manager, Total Rewards. We are able to consider both Remote and Hybrid candidates (local to our North American manufacturing headquarters in Apple Valley, MN).

What will you be doing?

Market Pricing and Benchmarking: Partner with internal departments including hiring manager, Human Resources Manager, and Talent Acquisition to provide market pricing analysis which includes benchmarking, job classifications, Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA) determination, and grade analysis.

Systems and processes: actively participate in administration and development of HR and compensation database systems and reporting processes
Survey Participation and Compensation Trends: Participate in both national and local compensation surveys. Responsible for staying up to date on current market as well as new compensation trends for the organization to consider.
Compensation Programs: Maintain pay structures throughout the organization by utilizing internal equity and external market trends data; variable pay and incentive programs. This role will assist internal stakeholders with job leveling and career pathing projects.
Ad hoc financial analysis/Data analytics: Provide project-based analysis and reporting, making recommendations to support data-driven strategic decision making

What will you need?

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field

  • Proven work experience in compensation and benefits, 3-5 years

  • Outstanding technical, data analysis and reporting skills with a strong attention to detail

  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods

  • Extensive knowledge of compensation laws, regulations and best practices

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; high level Excel skills, including use of basic formulas, pivot tables and v-lookups

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize conflicting projects to meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with internal stakeholders as well as external customer and partners

  • Experience with Workday HRIS (Preferred)

  • Global compensation experience,  especially Canada (Preferred)
