The Opportunity

As a dedicated Talent Acquisition Partner Senior for our Military Talent Acquisition Partnership team, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of relationships and partnerships with hiring leaders, candidate pools, peer partners, and third-party vendors to deliver candidates for USAA's hiring needs. Consults with management to lead cross-functional teams when implementing sourcing strategies to proactively identify candidates and assemble diverse pipeline of talent for open positions.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in the following locations: San Antonio TX, Plano TX, Tampa FL, Charlotte NC, Phoenix AZ or Colorado Springs CO.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Identifies and builds community partnerships to generate candidates in alignment with organization's hiring and program objectives.
  • Develops and implements creative sourcing strategies to proactively identify candidates and assemble pipeline of talent for open positions.
  • Performs full life cycle recruiting utilizing various recruitment methods.
  • Advanced technology navigation to include Candidate Relationship Management and AI systems.
  • Coordinates with internal and external partners to establish community networks and relationships in support of our military, diversity and college hiring requirements with minimal guidance.
  • Follows up and follows through on all submitted candidates in a timely manner and ensures that the Applicant Tracking System (Workday) is kept up to date in real time and ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Regulatory requirements.
  • Leveraging defined job descriptions, develops compelling job posting descriptions to attract talent and strives to differentiate USAA from our competitors.
  • Keeps candidates continually informed with high-touch communication throughout the entire hiring process
  • Negotiates advanced total compensation packages per job requisition within approved range, maintaining a fiduciary responsibility to the company.  
  • Partners with cross-functional teams in the strategy development and implementation of business hiring solutions.
  • Participates in complex recruiting initiatives and is a strategic partner to identified business lines in development of recruiting plans.
  • Forecasts and manages talent pool size to fulfill workforce plans and hiring objectives.
  • Consults to hiring managers and/or coworkers through the recruiting processes to ensure compliance within external and internal regulatory agencies.
  • Applies and shares, advanced knowledge of recruiting discipline(s), specifically employment law, policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a resource to team members on process and policy questions and issues.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years progressive work experience in general human resources, and/or account relationship management, to include knowledge of applicable employment laws, with at least 3 years in staffing or search environment.
  • Advanced level of experience with full cycle recruiting (sourcing, screening, interviewing, offering, hiring).
  • Knowledge of applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrates strong experience in effective screening and interviewing techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products and other software to support sourcing tools and techniques.

  • Full cycle recruiting with proven experience in innovative sourcing techniques for recruiting military and military spouse/domestic partners.
  • Experience networking with military transition programs, veteran organizations, and career centers to attract highly qualified candidates.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage military personnel transitioning to civilian careers
  • Experience representing organizations at military career fairs, veteran-focused events, and online platforms to promote our commitment to hiring veterans and military spouse/domestic partners.
  • Experience with Workday Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Experience sourcing passive candidates utilizing a range of recruiting/CRM/scheduling tools (I.e. Textio, Eightfold AI, LinkedIn Recruiting, Hire EZ, Paradox, military-specific job boards).
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450 – $197,730

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
