Job Summary:

Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, payroll.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Site HR leader for Germantown facility
  • Culture shaper – drives and supports employee engagement in alignment with Wabtec values to promote a positive work environment for employees
  • Manages employee relations for both salaried employees for the Digital Intelligence P&L as well as an hourly employee population within Global Operations
  • Provide employee HRM support for the Train Performance & Automation team as well as our Network Optimization team
    • Includes posting positions, transactional support and recruiting
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, interns, and temporary employees; supports by writing advertisements in some cases
    • Work collaboratively to post new job opportunities as needed
  • Act as liaison with area temporary agencies, maintaining status of authorized positions within the corporations, invoice approval and reconciliation
  • Meets and greets all new hires and expands on standard new hire orientation
  • Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Provides guidance on compensation, salary planning and performance management activities
  • Coordinates social activities on site
  • Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools.  Assist in the development of standard reports for ongoing inter-company needs.  Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
  • Develops and maintains all required government reporting (this was all EEO, VETS, and workers comp reporting)
  • Investigates and coordinates all worker compensation claims.  Makes recommendations to management regarding safety.
  • Works closely with manufacturing staff and establishes training goals and objectives.
  • Manages attendance system for hourly employees
  • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations etc
  • Oversee labor relations for the sites. Ensure alignment with Supply Chain and broader Wabtec labor relations strategy.
  • Serve as the HR Leader for the sites and partner with manager to drive organization-wide initiatives and engage with the plant leadership team to further HR and organizational objectives.
  • Provide coaching, advice, council, and support for Leadership, managers, employees and peers.
  • Act as an impartial advocate to ensure that all individuals receive fair and equitable treatment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years HR related experience

Desired:

  • Excellent communications and organization skills are required.
  • Ability to deal with people effectively and tactfully. Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks successfully
  • Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to learn Workday HRIS and Kronos attendance system.  Must be proficient in Excel, Word and Access.
  • Employee relations experience
