Who will you be working with?

We have an opening for a Payroll Specialist in our Human Resources Department.  We are located on the North Shore at 30 Isabella Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 15212, in the Downtown Pittsburgh area.

Location: Hybrid schedule in Pittsburgh, PA

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the payroll team, you will be responsible for:

  • Process multiple payrolls that run on a weekly and/or bi-weekly basis.
  • Import time into Workday payroll system. Audit the import processing, send reporting for approvals and finalize pay within the timelines set forth.
  • Process pre-tax, and after-tax deductions and withholdings (i.e. W-4 taxes, garnishments, and local taxes).
  • Audit payroll against various payroll reports.
  • Enter pay input into Workday for changes, hours, and earnings, and calculate retroactive pay adjustments.
  • Compile and translate corporate files for Unemployment, and Fidelity (summarize data for corporate deductions) for all Wabtec PSIDs.
  • Communicate garnishments to the vendor for processing.
  • Run ending labor and accounting reports and distribute them to Finance.
  • Process W-2’s, W-2C’s, Amendments and Year-End closing.
  • Scan and store all active payroll files on the network.

What do we want to know about you?

  • This position requires an Associate Degree in Accounting or a related field, with 1-3 years of payroll experience required, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of Payroll, Human Resource Information Systems (preferably Workday), as well as tax and labor laws.
  • Must be proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of classified information.
  • Must have the ability to deal with all different pay classes, such as exempts, non-exempts, and unions.
  • Must have the ability to run multiple payrolls and work with deadlines.
  • Experience with Canada payroll and Expatriates is a plus.
