Job Description Summary
The Assistant University Registrar for Registration is an essential position within the Office of the University Registrar and provides academic operations support with a focus on registration and grading.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
Â
- Registration: Add, drop, and withdraw students from classes when administrative intervention is required.
- Registration appointments: Assign registration appointments each semester.
- Reassign registration: Move academic history between academic records as necessary.
- Missing prerequisites: Identify students who are missing prerequisites and inform students and instructors.
- Repeated registrations: Identify and manage students who are registered for repeated courses.
- Grading basis changes: Ensure students are adhering to grading basis rules.
- Grading: Audit for missing grades, oversee the grade change process, and update grades when administrative intervention is required.
- Non-degree students: Admit, register, and discontinue non-degree students.
- Communication: Ensure students and faculty are informed about important dates, such as the registration and grading windows. Provide primary support for all essential functions to constituents via phone, email, chat, and in-person.
Other Functions:

In partnership with the Assistant University Registrar for Scheduling, provide secondary support for the following:
- Course section management: Audit, publish, and update course sections created by departments across the university.
- Classroom scheduling: Assign appropriate classrooms to college course sections using the university’s room assignment software.
In partnership with other members of the Office of the University Registrar, provide secondary support for the following:
- Support: Provide general support to constituents via phone, email, chat, and in-person.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of skills and experience
- Two years of related professional experience
- Ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and students
- Ability to follow established policy and documented business processes
- Superior communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Â
- Experience with Workday Student or similar student information systems
- Experience working with or in an administrative office at a postsecondary institution
