Job Description:
The Workday Analyst is responsible to research and troubleshoot to help solve team member issues in Workday with the ability to identify solutions and recommend process improvement and process streamlining opportunities. The role is based at the company’s Operational Headquarters in Houston and works very closely with all levels of the organization within the company’s Texas and Oklahoma based locations. Under the guidance of the Supervisor, Workday Systems, this role provides advisory services and guidance to management regarding system requirements based on company resources and needs, is responsible for data reconciliation and data administration duties varying in complexity and utilizes various FINs & HCM modules and various internal/external systems and related interfaces. The Workday Administrator is a key position within the team and influences internal and external impressions of the department through IT systems’ quality.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and provide leadership for the resources supporting the break/fix efforts of the HR/Finance application
  • Serve as the IS partner supporting HCM & Finance areas in Workday, including FP&A reporting, Expenses, Procurement, Projects, Performance Management, Core Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, etc.
  • Act as a point of contact to monitor and triage HR/Finance IT issues
  • Test, validate and implement Business Process changes in Workday
  • Analyze, design and build new custom reports using standard Workday reporting functionality (ex: Report Writer, Calculated Fields)
  • Create, edit and remove organization security roles for the system and provide support for issues relating to User Based Securities in Workday
  • Maintain assignment for User Based Security roles to Employees and/or Positions
  • Participate in periodic audits on system roles and access logs to ensure accuracy
  • Research inquiries using available information resources and redirect problems to the appropriate resource
  • Lead effort in tracking issues and resolutions; identify situations requiring urgent attention
  • Stay current with any supported system information, changes and updates
  • Understand and follow defined technical standards, security and data privacy standards, and best practices
  • Provide input and guidance to Workday Team Members, partners and clients as appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to learn new skills and adapt quickly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members
  • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the clients’ needs and situation
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Strong project management skills/experience
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, self-directed team-based environment
  • Ability to think clearly under pressure and in stressful environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide support; high technical aptitude with the ability to grasp technical concepts and details
  • Knowledge of Workday implementation tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, and iLoad)
  • Understand basic database architecture, tables, functional interactions, and recognize and understand impacts to downstream systems
  • Knowledge of Workday Studio a plus


  • Bachelors’ Degree in relevant technical field
  • A minimum of 3 years HRIS or Business Analyst experience
  • Workday experience is preferred
  • Technical and/or functional HR/Finance background a plus
