Summary of Position:

The Workday Analyst is responsible for researching and troubleshooting to help solve team member issues in Workday, with the ability to identify solutions, recommend process improvement, and streamline opportunities. The role is based at the company’s operational headquarters in Houston, and it works very closely with all levels of the organization within the company’s Texas and Oklahoma-based locations. Under the guidance of the Supervisor, Workday Systems, this role provides advisory services and guidance to management regarding system requirements based on company resources and needs, is responsible for data reconciliation and data administration duties varying in complexity, and utilizes various FINs & HCM modules and various internal/external systems and related interfaces. The Workday Analyst is a key position within the team and influences internal and external impressions of the department through IT systems’ quality.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents most of the position's duties but is not meant to be all-inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.

As a Workday Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and providing leadership for the resources supporting the break/fix efforts of the HR/Finance application.
  • Serving as the IT partner supporting HCM & Finance areas in Workday, including FP&A reporting, Expenses, Procurement, Projects, Performance Management, Core Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, etc.
  • Acting as a point of contact to monitor and triage HR/Finance IT issues.
  • Testing, validating, and implementing Business Process changes in Workday.
  • Analyzing, designing, and building new custom reports using standard Workday reporting functionality (ex: Report Writer, Calculated Fields).
  • Creating, editing, and removing security roles for the system and providing support for issues relating to user-based securities in Workday.
  • Maintaining assignment for User Based Security roles to Employees and/or Positions.
  • Participating in periodic audits on system roles and access logs to ensure accuracy.
  • Researching inquiries using available information resources and redirecting problems to the appropriate resource.
  • Leading effort in tracking issues and resolutions; identifying urgent situations.
  • Staying current with any supported system information, changes, and updates.
  • Understanding and following defined technical standards, security and data privacy standards, and best practices.
  • Providing input and guidance to Workday Team Members, partners, and clients as appropriate.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of HRIS or Business Analyst experience is required.
  • Workday experience is preferred.
  • Technical and/or functional HR/Finance background is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Workday Studio is a plus.
  • Know Workday implementation tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, and iLoad).
  • Be able to understand database architecture, tables, and functional interactions and recognize and understand impacts to downstream systems.
  • Be able to troubleshoot and provide support; high technical aptitude with the ability to grasp technical concepts and details.
  • Be able to learn new skills and adapt quickly.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
  • Be able to accurately collect information to understand and assess the client’s needs and situation.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and customer service orientation.
  • Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • Have strong project management skills/experience.
  • Be able to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-ups and resolutions.
  • Be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, self-directed, team-based environment.
  • Be able to think clearly under pressure and in stressful environments.
