Job Description
Job Title: Workday Applications Specialist

Job Summary: The Workday Applications Specialist will perform technical activities in Workday supporting various modules in the system. The Specialist will research, design, document, maintain and develop new business processes, new functionalities & reports with an emphasis on the user experience and system standards. The Specialist will assist with related projects, including system releases/upgrades, enhancement, and process redesign and will troubleshoot and resolve all issues related to system configuration and set-up.
Principal Duties:
- Provide support to assigned related initiatives which require changes to Workday. Build and maintain quality system functionality leveraging Workday’s capabilities to meet business needs.
- Support new programs and processes. Recommend improvements and support new programs. Develop user procedures, guidelines, and documentation for related systems. Provide training to business user on new processes/functionality as needed.
- Ensure design solutions are validated/tested (post-configuration), to confirm the design is working as planned, downstream impact is minimized, and additional problems are not inadvertently resulting from the change.
- Perform testing and analysis to ensure the system meets or exceeds end-user requirements and standards and deployment. - Provide subject matter expertise in Workday to assist and advise systems team members in the building and expanding of the Workday application.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on Workday Talent Management solutions. Provide guidance and recommendations on system functionality and system configurations to meet business needs.
- Work with team members to provide day-to-day support related to various functional areas and technology solutions. Perform mass data loads in Workday (EIBs), proactively identify and /or correct errors in Workday business processes, employee data or data configuration and resolve the impacts of any changes to Workday processes.
- Assist in troubleshooting of complex process, application and functional issues and lead these, in accordance with agreed service levels, through to resolution. Provide daily support for all issues; take ownership of issues thru resolution.Â
- Keep up to date on Workday functionality and various modules. Assist in the overall management of Workday Feature Releases, including scope and schedule of each release, working between business system owner and IT department and coordinating resources. Work on identifying additional functionality from the Workday platform that could/should be considered and would work with the functional owners to help drive user adoption.
- Assist in troubleshooting of complex process, application and functional issues and lead these, in accordance with agreed service levels, through to resolution. Provide daily support for all issues; take ownership of issues thru resolution.Â
- Assist in the HR Systems release management process by performing testing of new releases for functional areas. Keep up to date on Workday and Talent and Performance Management functionality. Assist in the overall management of new feature releases, including scope and schedule of each release, working between business system owner and IT department, and coordinating resources. Work on identifying additional functionality that could/should be considered to help drive user adoption.
- Provide break/fix and enhancement support for Workday reports. Support the design, build and testing of new reports. Create and deliver custom reports as required to support system administration, EIB’s and MOM processes.
- Provide support and back up to the Workday Security Administrator on routine maintenance tasks and projects. Troubleshoot moderately complex customer and system issues. Support data entry quality and initiate changes and improvements as needed.
- Analyze, understand, and share learnings from peer groups, Workday Community, and previous cycles to build strong knowledge of the product. Drive knowledge sharing with team members relevant business users.
- Log and maintain tickets in Workday support site. Take ownership of issue thought resolution. Communicate and educate business teams as needed on resolution.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 6 – 8 years of Talent and/or HR technology related experience
- Minimum 3 years of recent Workday configuration experience with a focus on Talent Management
- Excellent understanding of HR processes for technical interpretations
- Strong understanding of Workday business process framework
- Workday Security and Reporting experience is a plus
- Workday Pro certification in any area is a plus
