Job Summary:

Reporting to the AVP of Financial Affairs, the Senior Financial Analyst position conducts high-level analytics and financial modeling for various departments across the organization. Responsible for financial forecasts, report variances and, in collaboration with department leadership, ensures financial performance through the budgeting process and provides financial guidance to the decision support team.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and assists with the preparation of complex financial forecasts and reports variances for assigned departments to support organization and/or department decision making.
  • Develops financial models and performs monthly variance analysis throughout the year to assist leadership in identifying causes and potential solutions for material variances.
  • Tracks and identifies financial trends through analytics, reports findings to leadership, and recommends any necessary solutions.
  • Acts as key resource during budgeting process through the year.
  • Coordinates the analysis of financial data and creation of financial models for decisions support teams.
  • Works closely with department leadership to ensure financial performance for the department is consistent with institutional practices and budget expectations.
  • Completes monthly physician payroll, including: calculating, reconciling, reporting and submitting data to guarantee correct and timely monthly payments.
  • Supports month-end and year-end close process utilizing financial systems and advanced excel functions to ensure accurate financial performance is communicated to key stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develops and documents business processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Creates effective business partnerships throughout organization and manages competing priorities on a routine basis.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Education, Licensure/Certification, and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 5 + years of related finance, budgeting or accounting experience required.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Workday experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and business practices and principles
  • Demonstrates team experience and collaborative approach to solving problems
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal correspondence
  • Commitment to detailed financial accounting and reporting
  • Strong organizational skills; must be detailed oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to follow up on pending issues and meet deadlines

Working Conditions/Schedules:

  • Office environment.
  • 40 hour per work week with additional hour’s required based on business needs.  Work week is Monday – Friday and hours to be determined by the business needs of the department.
