Job Description

In this role, you will be an integral part of the Global Financial Systems & Reporting team assisting in the administration and system development of the Workday Adaptive Planning financial software. This team member will play a key contributing role in all areas of new system development in Workday Adaptive Planning including requirements gathering, system development, testing, implementation, and support. Successful candidates for this role will need strong technical aptitude & communication skills with a high level of curiosity to drive new solution developments and improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for development and maintenance in Workday Adaptive Planning system, including:

  • Performing administrator functions such as maintaining the models, dimensions, integrations, and user access.
  • Performing quality assurance testing to verify system functionality; Identifying and fixing bugs and other inconsistencies
  • Assisting in the development of new functionality in Adaptive to support FP&A forecasting needs
  • Developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and input sheets for the business partners in the system
  • Monitoring deployment of additional system functionalities & upgrade releases from Workday. Completing testing & validation of any new functionality as needed.
  • Collaborating with peers and business partners to document business processes and requirements for any new functionality request and prepare functional and technical specifications.
  • Development of complex reports and modeling tools within the system to support sales, margin, operating expense, and headcount forecasting

• Serve as the subject matter expert on cross-functional task forces, as needed.
• Provide training and support for Workday Adaptive Planning to regional and global accounting/finance teams.
• Develop, document, and implement policies, procedures, guidelines, and best practices to ensure data integrity and standardized end-user processes • Anticipate change management constraints and build them into financial system design and maintenance considerations.
• Consistently looks for ways to optimize and improve existing processes, systems, and platforms.
• Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to enhance system performance and effectiveness.
• Provide various ad-hoc reporting and research to support FP&A Team

Role Guidelines:


• Strong understanding of Workday Adaptive Planning or similar financial planning system.
• Strong ability to design financial models within the Adaptive Planning system for ease of use and improved accuracy of the forecast.
• Ability to think outside the box to provide creative solutions & system improvements to enhance the finance team forecasting experience while delivering high quality system innovations.


• Comfortable with adapting software for internal application.
• Handles detailed, structured problems & can identify roadblocks to task completion.
• Presents problem analysis and recommend solutions in a logical manner.


• Able to effectively present information and respond to questions in both one-on-one situations and group meetings.
• Ability to tailor communication approach to specific situations and audiences.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less systems knowledge and works cooperatively to ensure completion of projects.

Education & Experience:

• BA/BS and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 1 year in FP&A preferred
• Experience working in Adaptive Planning or similar financial planning systems preferred
• Experience with P&L analysis, spreadsheet modeling
