We are looking for a Director of HR Shared Services to join our Human Resources team. The selected individual will play a vital role in shaping our HR service delivery model by establishing performance standards, ensuring quality assurance, measuring workflows and metrics, and setting team priorities.
The scope of HR Shared Services encompasses:
- Workday Help platform, phone line, and other channels for employee services
- Employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding
- HR policies, legal compliance, and government reporting
- Employee job changes and related documentation
- International employment practices and policies
- Time off plans and holidays
- HR intranet site, collateral, and communications
- Critical incident support for employees and emergency assistance for business travelers
- Global mobility services, including immigration, visas, expat assignments, international secondments, rotations, relocations, and office transfers
- Projects and initiatives aimed at updating or enhancing HR processes, reporting, and services
Job Responsibilities:
- Enhance the efficiency of HR Shared Services without compromising employee experience
- Establish and track key performance indicators to measure service volumes and employee satisfaction
- Continuously improve operations based on feedback from the business and employees
- Continuously monitor and track new and proposed changes in employment laws and regulations; make sure HR policies and the employee handbook are regularly reviewed and updated accordingly
- Create effective employee communications that are engaging and easy to understand
- Deliver reports, metrics, updates, new programs, and recommendations to senior leadership
- Lead and take ownership of projects, change management initiatives, communication efforts, and issue escalations
- Collaborate with other departments and teams on firmwide or cross-functional initiatives
- Cultivate effective and productive relationships with functional leaders and HR business partners, leveraging these connections to deliver exceptional outcomes
- Offer consistent opportunities for career development and growth to inspire and motivate the employees under your supervision
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in human resource management, business administration or a related field
- 10+ years of related human resources experience in a dynamic environment; 5+ years in a leadership role preferred
- 5+ years leading an HR function focused on continuous improvement and process harmonization in a law firm, professional services organization, or similar organization
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Expert knowledge in HR service delivery, HR policies, and processes
- Experience leading the execution of HR projects and initiatives
- Analytical expertise and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and produce relevant metrics to support decision making
- Ability to positively influence stakeholders, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience with HR information systems and other HR technology platforms; Workday experience preferred
The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations are also listed. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:
San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $195,500 – $264,500 per year
Austin, Boston, Boulder, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Seattle, and Wilmington: $175,950 – $238,050 per year
Salt Lake City and all other locations: $156,400 – $211,600 per year
The compensation for this position may include a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
