Our Advanced Services team is energized and passionate, committed to helping create experiences that enable lasting customer success with Workday. Utilizing our unique backgrounds, we provide business process transformation, change management and production preparedness services to Workday prime customers. We are often remote from one another but that doesn’t stop our sense of collaboration, supportiveness, and fun.

About the Role

The Workday Transformation Services Principal Consultant on the Advanced Services team is a strategic, experienced consultant role. It will play a critical part in growing a new area within Workday’s Global Professional Services Organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in workshop facilitation, business process consulting and functional expertise in Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement and/ or Human Resources. They will lead the Workday Transformation workstream on deployments, helping customers achieve their strategic objectives, address critical pain-points and define their future-state ways of working so that they are optimized to their Workday solution.

In this capacity your role will initially focus on the design and development of the service methodology, resources and artifacts. This role will also serve in a customer-facing capacity as a member of one or more deployment teams, responsible for leading business process optimization consulting as a dedicated workstream. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a direct role in the innovation and growth of our Global Professional Services Organization. Ultimately, our goal is to help Workday-prime customers be successful during their initial deployment and as long-term life with Workday.  Key activities and responsibilities of the role may include:

  • Provide strategic and hands-on input to the design and development of a brand-new Workday consulting service: Defining service strategies, developing methodologies, creating repeatable consulting assets and supporting enablement activities. 

  • Act as a trusted advisor of customer leadership by leading the Workday Transformation workstream on Workday deployments. Facilitate end-to-end business process workshops, applying knowledge of leading-practice optimization techniques and driving consensus among customer leadership.

  • Define process taxonomies per customer requirements and Workday best practice functionality. 

  • Identify impacts of to-be processes and drive cross-functional collaboration during the deployment. Partner with engagement management, functional areas, testing, change management, integrations, and production preparedness workstreams to ensure process and operational changes are incorporated into downstream deployment strategies and plans.

  • Partner with Workday functional consultants and customer business leads to incorporate future-state business processes into Architect and Configuration design workshops.

  • Support Services Executives on new business development pursuits, contributing to services strategies and solution recommendations for new Workday-prime customers.

  • Collaborate with other Services team members to align priorities and activities.

  • Work with regional or global customers across sectors and industries.

  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership (white papers, reports, presentations, keynotes, etc.) targeting internal and external audiences

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 – 7+ years of experience in a consulting or professional services role, Big 4 or similar experience preferred.

  • Expert facilitator, with proven experience planning and delivering customer-facing workshops that drive toward alignment among diverse customer stakeholders  

  • Led target operating model design, organization transformation and/or business process improvement solutions.

  • Functional business expertise in Financials, Supply Chain, Procurement and/or Human Resources.

  • Workday or other SaaS business software deployment experience

  • Based in United States, Canada or Europe (UK or Continental)

  • English language fluency

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience with industries or sectors, such as Health Care, Financial Services, Business and Professional Services, Retail & Hospitality, Tech and/or Media. 

  • Professional certification(s) and/or credential(s) such as SixSigma, CPA, Chartered Accountant, SHRM, MBA, or similar.

  • Experience with Workday system features, capabilities and configuration related to one or more functional areas.

  • Experience with the Workday deployment methodologies and participating on projects involving one or more deployment phases.

  • Experience with business process design tools such as Visio, Lucidchart or similar.

  • Experience leading work streams on one or more concurrent customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, manage ambiguity, navigate matrix-organizations, employ research and apply problem-solving skills

  • Experience with business development activities (i.e., discovery, proposal development, SOWs, pricing, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree and Advanced degree in related field

  • Fluency in one or more languages other than English. French or German preferred.

  • Ability to travel at least 30% (post-COVID)
