About the Team
The Business Process Framework team focuses on building products that help orchestrate processes between people and systems, as well as building common frameworks that are shared across the Workday Application Suite. You’ll be guiding the efforts of a development team that works on a wide variety of features including Business Process actions (Send Back, Reassign, Delegate, etc.), Notifications, Alerts, and support of the My Tasks framework team.
The products we build in the Business Process Framework team are the backbone of every single application in Workday. If you love connecting with customers, digging into data, and developing a deep functional expertise, this position is for you. You will collaborate across many application and technology teams to solve complex technical and functional challenges in order to drive how we evolve and extend our frameworks.
About the Role
Product Managers at Workday are involved in all aspects of the product management lifecycle. We create new features to delight customers, evangelize the improvements to both internal and external customers, all while sweating out the details to deliver an outstanding end product.
Product Managers in the Business Process Framework team do these on a regular basis:
- Define the product roadmap and influence the long-term strategy for multiple product areas.
- Lead through influence and apply strategic understanding of the company's big picture and competitive landscape, and how to correctly position product in the marketplace.
- Collaborate with Workday's customers, development, services and sales teams to understand their requirements.
- Write detailed feature specifications based on requirements.
- Lead uptake of new enhancements by coordinating with internal development.
- Communicate enhancements to customers via workshops and knowledge transfers.
- Work with the development organization through design, testing, and product release and ongoing support.
- Participate in customer-facing situations and user conferences as a product authority.
- Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to change and learn new skills.
- Comfortably explore and employ various sources of qualitative and quantitative data to navigate tactical situations and synthesize a comprehensive product strategy.
- Drive cross-team initiatives and influence other teams on strategic direction and decision making.
About You
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 3+ years with a Master's)
- Computer Science background or equivalent technical experience
- 5+ years working in building platforms for developers as an engineer and/or domain knowledge
- Demonstrated experience leading initiatives across large engineering organizations and working with cross-team collaboration

- Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including user research.
- Demonstrated ability to operate successfully across multiple functions, influence senior executives and peers alike, and mediate across teams.
- Understanding of multi-datacenter, cloud-native architecture (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal.
- Experience with automation technologies or framework methodologies.
- History of working with Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
- Experienced with scrum and other agile development methods.
- Experience with SaaS.
Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $122,800 USD – $184,200 USD
Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $116,700 USD – $207,600 USD
