About the Team

Responsible for selling Workday Financial Management Suite to the Office of the CFO (oCFO). The Financial Principal Team carries a US National quota and is assigned to active opportunities to work with Financials Account Executives, Management, Extended Sales Team, and Partners, to close Financial Management sales with a particular focus on Industry. Will also be called on as a business expert to develop and present Workdays’s differentiating oCFO message to specific industry verticals as part of the demand generation motion. May coordinate with Sales Demand Generation, Marketing, and Product Development, to build the Workday oCFO brand.

About the Role

Here at Workday, our Financial Principals are key players in our Field Sales organization. With a net new revenue focus they are the catalyst behind Workday’s growth of our Financial Management Products. This fantastic team of hardworking professionals plays a key role in guiding new prospects on a journey from their limited and inadequate financial solutions to Workday’s transformative enterprise management cloud. In this role, you will in collaboration with the Financials AE and Regional Sales Directors: 

  • Build opportunities by utilizing deep industry and product expertise to share Workday’s differentiating story

  • Close opportunities by driving the overall strategy for oCFO aligned to prospect business objectives and build C-Level relationships in the oCFO to close/win

  • Drive and advocate prospect feedback throughout the organization to fuel insights critical for Marketing, Product Development, Demand Generation, Partner ecosystem

  • Bring an entrepreneurial (challenge selling when needed) value-selling approach to the oCFO as part of the selling process and co-enablement of the Financials AEs

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • ~8+ years of experience in SaaS/Cloud environment building relationships with internal stakeholders, focused on the oCFO

  • Successful track record exceeding quota or other measured targets in customer facing direct sales, solution consulting, or services consulting role for new software technology, focused on the oCFO

  • Leadership: demonstrated history leading teams

Other Qualifications

  • Understand the strategic competitive landscape of Workdays focus industries by staying up to date with trends and customer needs so you can effectively position Workday solutions within opportunities.  Industry experience being sought = financial services, professional services, software, retail, hospitality

  • Experience selling solution differentiation and its associated value drivers to the CSuite within one or more of the industries noted

  • Experience partnering with internal team members on account strategies for territory management, demand generation, and opportunity management

  • Ability to establish, articulate, negotiate, and execute a victory plan to executive stakeholders

  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills

Differentiating Qualification

  • Experience as a practitioner in oCFO or public accounting

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
