As a product manager in Workday’s Machine Learning organization, you will define and be responsible for the product roadmap for Workday’s new and existing products as well as outbound marketing and thought leadership. You will be able to make an impact on thousands of enterprise customers.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the VP of AI and Machine Learning, this role has high visibility and opportunity for impact within the company. The successful candidate has the opportunity to grow quickly in scope, and will be responsible for leading outbound communications for our machine learning products. The ideal candidate will have a working understanding of machine learning, as well as communications or marketing experience, and be able to use that knowledge to craft messaging and materials for our portfolio of applied machine learning and AI products.
- Lead internal and outbound technical marketing, demonstrating thought leadership in machine learning, artificial intelligence, large language models, ML Ops, security, and privacy
- Work with cross-functional teams to blend communications with other Workday products when needed.
- Work with engineering and product owners to create detailed, technically sound messaging that demonstrates the differentiation in Workday's ML products.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, customers, prospects, and analysts to deliver that messaging.
About You
You are someone who handles ambiguity well, and is willing to make autonomous decisions to move forward, then correcting as needed. You are a self-learner, able to work across organizational boundaries to be effective, and communicate with audiences from new grads to senior executives.
Basic Qualifications for Senior
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, communications, marketing, or an equivalent.
- 3+ years in marketing and communications, particularly in highly technical fields with an emphasis on thought leadership
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- 3 or more years of validated experience in a technical product management role
- 2 or more years of experience with ML fundamentals, including training, inference, and platforms
- Validated ability to understand deep customers needs, and producing product plans that meet customers where they will be rather than where they are. A track record of developing and communicating clear feature roadmaps crafted to drive core sales at retention metrics.
- A history of turning results-focused long term plans into prioritized features that deliver concrete value individually. Taken together, they build toward a coherent vision.

- 3 or more years of experience with ML fundamentals, including training, inference, and platforms

Other Qualifications
- Lead the outbound communication strategy to drive adoption, awareness, and engagement for our machine learning products.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, design, and marketing to develop machine learning models and features that improve user experiences.
- Conduct market research to stay informed on customer needs and industry trends related to machine learning and communication.
- Past experience in a technical role (Software engineering or Data Science) is strongly preferred
- Experience in Enterprise product management is helpful specifically in productizing ML applications at scale
- Experience crafting something from nothing. Experience working, and succeeding in highly driven spaces.
