What’s cool about this job?

In this role, you’ll build solutions focused on enabling WP Engine teams to quickly design, develop, and deliver market-ready solutions. As our company grows rapidly, we want our teams to be able to easily create consistent, scalable, and effortless experiences. You will be building reusable tools, component libraries, API’s, and scalable frameworks that enable our engineering teams to ship more effectively.

The day to day.

  • Work as part of an agile development team to delivering impactful software rapidly and iteratively

  • Continuously improve WP Engine’s core web application and deployment pipeline to ensure that it’s resilient, robust, and scalable

  • Build and maintain the framework and component library that enables teams to easily deliver product solutions to our customers

  • Work closely with UX Research, Product Design, and Product Management partners to understand our internal customer’s needs

  • Constantly look for opportunities to improve operational effectiveness through reusable solutions, automation, and APIs

Your skills and expertise.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in a software development role

  • Experience with any web development framework – e.g. Django, Ruby on Rails, Flask

  • Data modeling, designing REST API’s, and microservices development

  • Git/Github version control, and CI/CD for automated testing and deployment

  • History of problem solving and taking ownership of features, with a team, on short and long-running projects

  • Understanding of prioritization and when and how to make optimal tradeoffs in areas such as correctness, robustness, reliability, and performance to achieve the intended impact across all stages of the product development lifecycle

  • Outstanding capacity to connect with others through strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Continuous learning attitude and an eagerness to dive in to solve exciting problems

Preferred Skills:

  • Modern Web UI frameworks – e.g. React, Angular, Vue

  • Cloud technologies and services – e.g. Heroku, GCP, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes

  • Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies
