Job Description Summary

The Operations Analyst is responsible for cross-functional and cross-organizational operational support for the People & Culture area. This includes business and technical analysis, quality assurance and documentation, and providing training support to ensure quality standards and consistency is met throughout People & Culture. The Operations Analyst assists the director in creating the conditions for, promoting, and ensuring operational excellence and continual improvement across People & Culture and Global Workforce Strategies to strengthen Wycliffe USA’s contributions to the work of Bible translation worldwide. Works in a way that garners the respect of partners.

Job Description Responsibilities

  • Works with the director to help each assigned department carry out operational plans as they align with their department’s strategic priorities and initiatives and the overall area strategy and objectives. 

  • Assists in the progression and moderation of operating policies, guidelines, and systems to set standards and best practices with an eye on continuous improvement towards greater effectiveness and efficiency. 

  • Creates a matrix team of all People & Culture operations liaisons and acts as the first point of contact for them, and meets with them regularly.

  • Identifies and assists in finding creative solutions to related process issues, and in collaboration with other Wycliffe departments, ensuring these adhere to the department and organization’s policies, objectives, and strategies. 

  • Analyzes and evaluates data and reports, feeds back the findings to relevant stakeholders, and advises on changes and improvements.

  • Watches for trends that indicate potential problems and then makes recommendations to mitigate problems. 

  • Works with People & Culture operations liaisons on testing and deployment of new process and system functionality. 

  • Assists in efforts for biannual Workday updates as they relate to the entire area.

  • Tests Workday business processes. Finds creative solutions and new functionality options as they relate to greater efficiency and customer excellence. 

  • Acts as a liaison between end users and system configurators (the Workday team) on any changes.

  • Manages and leads projects for both operations and People & Culture, and develops and implements test plans to ensure successful delivery, collaborating with partners as needed.

  • Evaluates in liaising with the HR team whether practices are legally compliant and within HR policies and best practices.

  • Maintains an adequate and concise flow of information within People & Culture Operations and with related departments through each People & Culture operations liaison.

  • Initiates efforts and procedures to maintain data integrity, troubleshoot and recommend solutions.

  • Spiritual Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ): Demonstrates desire and ability to support corporate Biblical and religious goals and participate in regular work related spiritual activities without mental reservation.

  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills, including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, strong understanding of Workday business processes and features, business analysis skills. Superuser knowledge of the HCM system (Workday).

  • Makes decisions and problem solves autonomously, in accordance with team vision and goals, yet remains open to input and suggestions from team members.

  • Executes complex projects with acute attention to detail and follow through.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of HR best practices.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience in operations, project management, HR systems, and/or human resources; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Systems improvement, testing, reporting, and dashboard/metrics distribution and analysis preferred. Experience with Workday strongly preferred. 

  • Nonprofit ministry volunteer or work experience is also beneficial.

  • Minimum starting pay for this position is $26/hr. but may be higher based on education, experience and skills.
