Job Description

Our Payroll department is looking for an experienced self-motivated system savvy Sr. Payroll Analyst to join our team.  Reporting to the Sr. Payroll Manager, the Sr. Analyst will work closely with the Accounting, People Ops and Benefits teams.  The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for the coordination of all payroll cycles and payroll associated tasks, drive to evaluate and improve processes, and work collaboratively across multiple functions to improve the customer experience.  

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of payroll functions in preparation, distribution, and reporting of payroll.  Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

  • Ensure the accurate and timely end to end processing of US multi-state payroll in Workday.

  • Review, process and audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards utilizing Workday Time.

  • Audit payroll data to ensure accurate processing of wages, garnishments, tax withholdings and deductions.

  • Provide prompt, friendly, and efficient customer service to employees who have questions regarding their pay, deductions, or the payroll process. 

  • Monitor tax notices, wage orders, and governmental correspondences; record tax payments and perform quarterly tax reconciliations in a timely manner

  • Participate in special projects as assigned, such as documenting workflows, improving processes and procedures, and periodic updates to payroll

  • Support the Payroll and Equity teams with the processing/recording of equity transactions (RSU vestings, NQSO exercises, etc.) to enable timely tax deposits.

  • Participate in Workday year end process by ensuring accuracy of W2s

  • Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation for all payroll related processes and providing recommendations as appropriate.

  • Document payroll processes and procedures with the ability to suggest best practices and opportunities 

  • Demonstrate expertise in payroll business processes and understand assigned and cross functional areas, develop and provide training and leadership 

  • Consult on the integration of systems into the Workday environment and recommend specific change management opportunities related to payroll process

  • Assist with internal and external audits and data gathering

  • Assist in international payroll processing of Canada and LATAM countries. 

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with multi-state payroll and payroll tax rules and regulations in the US (federal, state, local)

  • Current experience and in-depth knowledge of payroll systems and reporting functions, Workday Payroll preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of Payroll and/or HRIS experience 

  • Minimum of 10 years of overall Payroll experience, in a multi-national company

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in addition to strong problem solving skills in a growing and dynamic environment

  • Ability to recommend and implement changes as needed

  • Experience with Workday and/or ADP preferred

  • Ability to work remotely, independently and meet deadlines

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and work well in teams to establish and maintain effective working relationships

  • Ability to create meaningful KPI’s and metrics
