Job Summary:

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions.  The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts regular meetings with respective business units

  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate

  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)

  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention

  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation

  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning

  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs

  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met

  • Serves as a leader and coach for other positions in the department

Skills Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity & inclusion, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws

  • Ability to lead and direct teams / projects

  • Must be a results-oriented ‘change agent’ who is an effective business systems thinker

  • Effectively communicate with all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing business goals

  • Sound business acumen and the ability to establish credibility, trust and partnership at all levels within the organization

  • Working knowledge of federal/state employment laws and a solid understanding of general HR practices, laws and regulations required

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate, influence, negotiate; resolve conflicts and coach managers and employees, and work in a team-based environment

  • Analytical and decision-making skills required

  • Must be results oriented, customer-focused and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages is required.  Workday experience a plus.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience resolving complex employee relations issues

  • Experience supporting a manufacturing operations team highly preferred

  • Bilingual – English / Spanish – strongly desired

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM¬ SCP) credential desired
