Job Description:

The Human Resources Business Partner contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our Mumbai office through partnering with the businesses to ensure that our people strategies and initiatives are aligned to the growth and success of our business. The Human Resources Business Partner provides support to Russell Investments’ business units in areas such as managing and assisting with organization and workforce planning and design, talent and leadership development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employment relations, regulatory compliance and other HR projects and initiatives as required.

This role requires the ability to build strong, trusted partnerships with our leaders and associates, both within Mumbai and across our global firm.  We are seeking a proactive team player with an ability to work in a change-oriented, fast paced environment, manage various tasks simultaneously and work with changing priorities in a matrixed environment.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include

  • Support leaders by acting as a trusted advisor to help them meet business objectives, while guiding them to develop leadership skills and strategic decision-making abilities.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across HR and business functions to ensure smooth alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and execute plans to address associate engagement, development, and retention challenges, while identifying and leading initiatives for improvements.
  • Use analytical skills to identify trends and insights that drive positive business outcomes.
  • Coordinate and execute talent, performance, and compensation cycles in partnership with business leaders.
  • Collaborate with recruiting and business teams to define roles, oversee the hiring process, and ensure alignment with job levels and compensation guidelines.
  • Monitor adherence to HR policies and practices, ensuring accurate and timely HR data for assigned business units. Handle associate queries efficiently, escalating when necessary.
  • Provide operational support for various stages of the employee lifecycle, ensuring smooth and timely processes.
  • Engage with the HR team and other stakeholders to create an environment that fosters collaboration, leadership growth, and effective teamwork.

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following

  • Minimum of 5 years’ HR business partnering experience, managing client group and leadership relationships within a global matrix environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR regulations, employment law, employee relations, and administration practices, with the ability to handle sensitive information sensitively.
  • Proven ability to coach leaders and act as a strategic advisor, fostering leadership growth and organizational influence.
  • Proven analytical abilities, leveraging data to drive decisions across multiple priorities.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional approach to engaging executives, leaders, and employees.
  • Strong customer orientation and stakeholder management skills, demonstrating flexibility while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS preferred and high proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Prior experience in BSFI industry needed.
  • Master’s Degree in HR Management preferred.
