Mountain Sky Guest Ranch is a 10,000-acre world class guest ranch, providing extraordinary family vacation experiences and an agricultural/cattle operation. The property includes staff residences, multiple guest cabins, outdoor pavilions, an 18-hole Johnny Miller designed golf course and a wellness lodge. Activities include horseback riding, hiking, kids’ activities, golfing, yoga, massage and challenge course.
West Creek Ranch is a 7,000-acre conference facility hosting guests selected by the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. We have a “50/50 ethos” for our groups, meaning they meet for half a day, and recreate the other half, furthering the work of the group by bringing people together in an informal setting. Activities include horseback riding, hiking, golfing, yoga and challenge course.
Paradise Valley Ranch is an agricultural operation a short drive north. This ranch has a couple of agricultural leases – hay and for cattle. In addition, we host a small number of guided hunts in the fall, at no cost to the hunters.
The Ranch at Dome Mountain is the newest addition to the AMB West portfolio. This 5,329-acre property includes 4 miles of Yellowstone River frontage. Abundant wildlife highlights the value of conservation and guest experience on the property. AMB West is currently in the concept stages for the property to include hospitality, conservation, wildlife viewing and fishing among other uses.

Position Summary
This is a full-time position which reports to the AMBW HR Business Partner and will be primarily responsible for supporting all aspects of the HR function at AMB West, LLC, Mountain Sky Guest Ranch, and West Creek Ranch. The HR Specialist will be responsible for supporting AMBW managers/department heads in all aspects of recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills; thrives in a small team environment with moderate supervision; high regard for confidentiality; positive attitude; excellent oral and communication skills; excellent time management and organizational skills; self- starter; high level of attention to detail; and flexibility to work extended hours.
Role and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Proactively identify, qualify and recruit passive candidates, using innovative sourcing strategies, cold calling, social media and networking tools
- Develop sustainable, predictable talent pipelines that result in high quality of hire and below-average time to fill metrics
- Proactively network with internal stakeholders and external resources to build relationships and develop robust candidate pools
- Communicates thoroughly with candidates and HR Business Partner on the status of new employees
- Provide thought leadership through statistical data and research to generate new and innovative methods for process improvement
- Seek to continually improve internal processes, practices that support hiring and retaining top talent.
Onboarding & Offboarding Support
- Deliver a smooth, effective experience that provides new hires and Leaders with tools and skills to ensure their success.
- Coordinate all tasks from onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into Workday and auditing for accuracy and compliance requirements.
- Seek to continuously improve our onboarding process using technology and innovation.
- Partner closely with hiring managers to establish industry-leading new hire experiences
- Survey new hires and provide reporting on new hires
- Track and communicate people changes with appropriate teams in a timely manner and ensure records are up-to-date in Workday.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Recommend best practices as it pertains to I-9, E-verify, workplace notices and other required onboarding and offboarding notices.
- Analyze exit data to identify trends, themes of team member departures to ensure we are addressing gaps and opportunities.
Project Management
- Assist HR Business Partner in the analysis of all associate policies
- Facilitate tier 1 HR Support (Onboarding, Offboarding, Benefits, HRIS)
Guest Experience
- The HR Specialist will be expected to participate in at least 1 “guest experience” shift per week at one of AMBW’s properties
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum 21 years of age (required to operate ranch vehicles)
- 2 years prior experience working in seasonal hospitality
- 1-year prior experience working in HR or Talent Acquisition
