The Associate People Operational Excellence Analyst role plays a crucial part in ensuring the integrity of Assurant Human Resource (HR) data across HR processes and technologies. This includes periodic auditing, internal and external reporting requirements, and administrative, organizational, infrastructure, security, and systems support. The Associate Analyst is a key player who liaises with other HR teams, Payroll, vendor contacts, IT, and Legal to understand issues, troubleshoot, define requirements, and provide recommendations of delivery solutions to the Lead Analyst.  The Analyst role frequently participates in/supports projects and process improvement initiatives, making a significant impact on our operations.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? 

  • Perform ongoing demographic and plan-specific data audits for all employee populations. Ensure data consistency across the HR technology platform (Workday, CRM/ERIN, Pension system, Interfaces to downstream systems/processes, etc.). Analyze new and updated employee data flow through cross-functional, end-to-end systems. Research/design possible solutions and recommend and participate in process improvement solutions to reduce discrepancies.

  • The primary point of contact for the People Organization and employee data escalations.  Resolves discrepancies by reviewing all current and historical data sources, which include but are not limited to time records, valuation records, paper records, HRIS, FileNet, demographic data, Pension systems data, and external vendor records, and applying interpretations of the current and past plan, policy, or process provisions.

  • Perform mass data updates/corrections based on audit findings to ensure the accuracy of employee and infrastructure data across all HR technology platforms, leveraging the People Experience team, Payroll, and IT when needed.

  • Actively participates in projects such as systems implementations and upgrades, Plan changes, acquisitions, reductions in force, etc. Liaison with cross-functional project teams.

  • Responsible for preparing and issuing standard internal HR reports and standard notices regarding HR programs and plans. Prepares and provides ad-hoc reports and data to support HR in executing specific business events. Ensures the most effective distribution method for reports maintains all security access requirements.

  • Prepare and reconcile data required for annual compliance reporting, such as Affirmative Action Plans, EEO-1, Vets100, Health and Wellness Plans 5500 and Summary Annual Report, Pension Valuation file, Department of Labor Reporting, Annual Census, etc. Provide necessary data to appropriate vendors and HR teams for final preparation and filing. Respond to questions and requests for clarifications and supporting documentation.

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience and proficiency in HR Systems and software, knowledge of database management, familiarity with HRIS, and experience with data analysis tools are essential.

  • Workday HCM Experience, specializing in HR Admin and Org Admin roles.

  • Proficient with MS Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and advanced formula knowledge.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Understanding of HR policies, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure data security and privacy.

  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making within the HR department.

  • Experience collaborating with others at all levels within an organization and external vendor partners, auditors, and others as needed.

  • Able to work independently and with minimal day-to-day supervision.

  • Project management skills are a plus.

  • HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, GPHR, etc.) is a plus.
