HR Workday Security & Governance Analyst

Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) is looking for a talented and self-motivated HR Workday Security & Governance Analyst to be a member of the Human Resources Business Technology (HRBT) team.  This role will be responsible to manage a small team of Workday Security specialists and lead the configuration and administration related to the Workday HCM Security module.  This position will strive towards maximizing efficiency and improving security processes while modifying existing and developing new security configuration functionality, as well as managing the changes throughout the development life cycle by working with both internal and external teams that include both functional and technical resources. 

Responsibilities:

Project & Process Management

  • Security point of contact on HR projects and enhancements providing security role design guidance and best practices
  • Actively pursue innovative initiatives and improvements in current Workday security processes
  • Act as the Workday Security subject matter expert whether working on your own development projects or through providing guidance and training to internal Workday Security team
  • Lead design, development, and implementation of new Workday Security functionality including managing internal Workday Security team and their Workday development, prioritizing efforts to deliver and oversee quality
  • Collaborate with HRBT team in the design of security for delivery of integrations, business processes, reporting, security groups and other deliverables in Workday
  • Partner with HR to understand business needs, gather/document business requirements, assess Workday Security configuration feasibility and impact to other Workday configuration, develop, coordinate and document testing, delivery accurately to business clients, and provide post deployment support
  • Perform thorough testing for any and all security changes, document test scenarios and create test scripts in support of SDLC
  • Participate and support other HR and Systems projects and initiatives as needed

Systems Maintenance, Controls & Governance

  • Workday Security administration to align with operating model, including creating and maintaining security groups, user and role-based security assignments and updating domain security, authentication and proxy policies as needed
  • Workday Security configuration for enhancements, address defects, and new functionality (i.e., Business Process Config/Policy, integration security segments, report security etc.)
  • Provide ongoing Workday Security support and assistance as needed, not only to our business users but also to internal Workday Security team
  • Conduct regular audits on Workday access to ensure accuracy and compliance and respond to requests for security audits as needed working with our HR, HR Risk or leadership teams
  • Develop and document internal HR Technology Standard operating procedures
  • Meet as needed with HRBPs and COEs to address any security questions or issues
  • Provide support with Workday release security testing as needed and review of new security functionality for usage

Skills Required:

  • 3+ years relevant experience in HRIS, HR configuration, security, or related disciplines
  • Workday configuration and security experience preferred
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and procedures (i.e. Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking, etc.)
  • Ability to provide a proactive and independent approach to problem-solving, identifying opportunities for system improvement and driving initiatives without constant supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to recognize risk and remediate/mitigate as needed
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in the financial services industry a plus
  • Experience working in a global organization a plus
