We are looking for a candidate who will understand ‘as-is’ end-to-end business/process cycles, possess the ability to act effectively at various levels of detail, work constructively with cross-functional teams and senior management, facilitate problem-solving and decision-making and be actively involved in multiple project activities, such as owning project plans and requirements elicitation.

This successful candidate will act as an internal consultant to global HR stakeholders and be a part of a team of Workday specialists that sit in HRIS and closely partner with Information Technology and Human Resource peer groups. The candidate will be expected to closely collaborate with teammates across the globe and ensure we are maximizing our Workday investment.

Position Details

The HRIS PMO Group Manager is expected to be knowledgeable in HR Information Systems, particularly Workday. The role is responsible for providing strategic thought leadership, overseeing holistic design, governance, and ensuring optimized operation for global HRIS projects for Japan region. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic thought leadership and governance for global HR Information System projects (Japan and global initiatives).

Project Planning: Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, setting milestones, and establishing timelines.

– Resource Coordination: Coordinate resources across multiple projects to ensure optimal allocation and utilization.

– Stakeholder Management: Work with internal stakeholders and business partners to ensure alignment and support for project objectives and deliverables.

– Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.

– Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality assurance process, including unit testing and user experience testing, to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.

– Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including end-to-end solution design details and project progress reports.

– Global Standards: Ensure that all projects adhere to global design control standards and best practices.

– Issue Resolution: Facilitate the resolution of project-related issues and conflicts in a timely and effective manner.

– Performance Tracking: Monitor and track project performance, providing regular updates to HR executive leadership and corporate executive leadership.

– Mentorship: Mentor and guide project team members to promote knowledge sharing and professional growth.

– Community Engagement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices by actively participating in relevant professional communities.

– Program Management: Oversee the management of multiple projects and programs, ensuring they align with the overall strategic goals of the organization.

Mandatory Qualifications:

– Experience in HR Technology: 5+ years of experience in the HR technology ecosystem, with comprehensive knowledge of Workday or similar HRIS platforms.

– Project Management Expertise: Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex projects, including project planning, resource coordination, risk management, and quality assurance.

– Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop efficient and effective methodologies to address operational and performance issues.

– Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex processes and solutions in a clear and compelling manner.

– Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to work constructively with cross-functional teams, senior management, and global stakeholders.

– Problem-Solving Abilities: Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.

– Leadership and Mentorship: Ability to lead project teams, mentor less experienced teammates, and promote knowledge sharing and team growth.

– Adaptability: Self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities and complex tasks in a dynamic work environment.

– Global Perspective: Experience working in a global environment, understanding regional differences, and ensuring adherence to global standards.

– Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management tools such as SharePoint, Jira, and presentation applications.

Desired Qualifications:

– Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification

– Workday Project Manager Certification

– Language: English fluent, Japanese business level is nice to have
