Job Description

Administrative Faculty Contract. Non Tenure Track, Benefits Eligible.

The Senior Application Integration Developer develops, tests, documents, and integrates/implements various applications and integrations that WNC utilizes both internally and with third-party vendors or other NSHE institutions. Communication skills, problem solving skills, proficiency in programming languages and design patterns, and knowledge of application integrations are critical for success in this position.

This position identifies inefficiencies in standard work and business processes, research new technology and systems, and implements them to increase efficiency. Additionally, the position develops implementation and training plans for users of new systems and monitors the effectiveness of relevant technology deployments.  

 

This position maintains Western Nevada College’s information infrastructure to include databases in our Data Warehouse and document storage, ensuring that all applications and integrations have consistent and accurate information. This position also helps to ensure that all departments and divisions always have access to business-critical information. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Application Development 

  • Lead in the research and creation of new, highly secure application solutions using modern design principles, frameworks, and languages.  

  • Lead the development of both front-end and back-end applications/integrations using various frameworks and languages. 

  • These frameworks/languages include but are not limited to: MVC, Laravel, Lumen, Javascript, Jquery, PHP, SQL, HTML/CSS, Python and others.  

 

Application Support 

  • Install, implement, and update applications as well as support/troubleshoot errors with existing applications on our DW server and our webservers. 

  • Understand and evaluate business procedures to provide a software-based solution which increase productivity and efficiency to existing procedures.  

  • Oversees security assignments, server management and system administration as well as major existing applications/integrations such as: 

    • Active Directory Integration 

    • Admission Application Integration 

    • WNC API 

    • AIM Integration

    • ALMA Integration 

    • Award Spring Integration

    • Canvas API

    • Workday Integration

    • Omnilert Integration

    • Satis Application

    • TextBookBrokers Integration 

    • Reports 

    • Anywhere/Forgot/Activation Application(s)

    • Google Apps Integration

  • Provide training and advice to Intern (whenever position is filled) 

  • Oversee documentation regarding both existing and new procedures/applications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and three years of related professional experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree  (i.e., AA+4 yrs related professional experience).  A minimum of an Associate's degree is required.

Minimum Starting Salary Information:

This position is at a salary grade C. The minimum of the placement range is $66,244.64. The selected candidate will be placed at or above the minimum based on education and experience. WNC's placement range falls within the NSHE salary schedule: NSHE ADMINISTRATIVE SALARY SCHEDULE

Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees
WNC is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.
