Your Role

Alchemy is currently seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our Workday Platform team as a Workday Payroll Senior Consultant. If you have a Workday Payroll consulting background OR Workday Payroll functional knowledge with exposure to implementing a payroll system, bring your skills to Alchemy’s fun, people-centered, and customer-focused team! 

As a member of the Platform team, you’ll seek inventive solutions on behalf of customers, and help develop and refine our deployment strategy.

Your Responsibilities

  • As the payroll subject matter expert, lead clients through their Workday system implementation and the project development lifecycle.
  • Perform the following as a member of a deployment team: gather and understand customer payroll business requirements, design and configure the Workday Payroll solution, demonstrate configurations through the development of prototype systems, lead and manage parallel testing sessions, and complete knowledge transfer to customers.
  • Identify and analyze business needs and requirements, being able to translate technical requirements into business-appropriate terminology.
  • Create and develop functional designs and specifications and analyze gaps, while being able to successfully provide solutions.
  • Work with customers to review, understand and convert legacy payroll history into Workday.
  • Assist the integration consulting team in configuring and testing integrations between Workday and other third-party or custom solutions.
  • Consult with clients on a variety of data integrity issues and leading business practices utilizing Workday.
  • Ensure customers understand and take advantage of Alchemy and Workday best practices.
  • Strive to innovate and suggest new approaches and tools to deploy Workday efficiently and effectively.
  • Help ensure customers remain referenceable once in production.
  • Work with clients to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframe.
  • Partner with project managers to ensure alignment across project plans and allocated budgets.
  • Help mentor new consultants and serve as a professional role model.
  • Maintain Workday certifications and qualifications.

About You (Required Skills)

  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate work experience.
  • Experience as a Workday Payroll functional lead.
  • 4+ years of payroll processing or payroll implementation experience with Workday, Ellucian, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar applications.
  • Ability to use rigorous logic to understand hidden problems and identify effective solutions.
  • Ability to effectively manage against timelines and goals.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with both technical and functional end-users.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

About You (Bonus Skills)

  • Previous consulting experience within Higher Education (college/university).
  • Experience in time tracking, absence, compensation, benefits, or HCM.
  • An active Workday Payroll certification.

Pay Transparency Statement 

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Alchemy variable bonus plan based on role-specific commission/bonus. Talent Acquisition can share more detail during the hiring process. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Alchemy, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,000-$145,000 USD.
