Your Role

Gensler’s Southcentral Region is seeking an HR Generalist to join our Austin office. This position will have broad responsibilities working directly with both the Austin and San Antonio offices as well as the other South Central regional offices and team. You'll work under the guidance of, but with minimal supervision from, the Regional HR Director. You'll be joining a dynamic and enthusiastic group of HR professionals in a creative and exciting industry.  This is an opportunity to provide strategic HR support in a cutting-edge team environment.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with office leadership, studio leaders, and regional HR team to support the delivery of comprehensive and robust HR services; build strong, credible relationships with internal stakeholders and team members to provide best-in-class talent-business partnership.

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; training and development.

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate person.

  • Analyze large data sets in a fast-paced environment;  extract trends and themes, identify issues and provide solutions from analysis of data in order to better support business operations and drive efficiencies.

  • Educate employees about benefit programs and liaise with firm wide benefit team.

  • Develop work plans and roll out yearly programs including open enrollment, professional development plans, engagement survey, and promotions.

  • Facilitate global mobility of employees with transfers, relocations, immigration and visa requests.

  • Maintain HRIS data, perform audits, and create reports; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years of progressive HR experience in complex, matrixed global organizations. AEC Industry experience (Architectural, Engineering, Construction) is a plus.

  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Basic knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

  • Solid time management skills including the ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task while working independently as a part of a team; ability to pivot to meet changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all levels of management and leadership; solution-driven collaborator who takes ownership with minimal supervision.

  • Heavy experience with HRIS and HRIS reporting; Workday experience preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail; critical thinking skills; analytical mindset; self-starter with strong and dependable follow-through. Ability to deliver with accuracy and precision.

  • Advanced MS Office proficiency – Intermediate to Advanced Excel proficiency is a must (V/X-Lookups, advanced formulas, charts, graphs, tables); Advanced PowerPoint skills.

  • Strong EQ (Emotional Intelligence) with an ability to quickly interpret situations, present solutions succinctly and understand impacts of decisions.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to drive and implement change in a dynamic team-based organization.
